You won’t be seeing very many — none, probably — in-depth reviews of “travel social networks” like Travello here, because well…

Travello is one of the world’s largest travel social networks, used by travellers in 180+ countries. Connect with like-minded travellers nearby, discover & book local travel deals or post your latest travel photos & videos on the feed!

Whether you’re a solo traveller, backpacker, expat, digital nomad or on a holiday with family or friends you’ll be able use Travello to meet new travel buddies & friends with ease. You can even chat & message with them directly through the app or join groups that match your interests.

… the whole point kinda escapes us. Shouldn’t the reason for going abroad be to immerse yourself in the local culture, not spend your time with other foreigners? Something about this propensity tourists and expats have for outgrouping themselves from their hosts that we just don’t really get.

That said, we do have Travello on our phone just on the off chance that some of its functionality might be handy at some point, so we do recommend you download it and check it out, especially if you do like connecting with travel buddies along your way…

… and might as well give this contest a shot while you’re at it!
