Hotel: Sawasdee Angkor Villa, Siem Reap, Cambodia

Whilst there’s certainly no lack of accomodation for every taste to be found in Siem Reap for the Angkor tourist hordes — and more springing up all the time! —

— we have a particular budget-friendly yet convenient to downtown recommendation for you:

Sawasdee Angkor Villa

Sawasdee Angkor Villa

Located in the lovely area of Siem Reap Central Area, Sawasdee Angkor Villa enjoys a commanding position in the restaurants, culture, sightseeing hub of Siem Reap. The hotel is not too far from the city center: just 0.4 km away, and it normally takes about 18 minutes to reach the airport. A well-kempt environment and its proximity to Sok San Street, Happy Ranch Horse Riding, New Leaf Book Cafe give to this hotel a special charm…

That’s about right; you’re just a little bit of a stroll from all the downtown action, yet far enough to be a retreat from the dust and noise, set back a bit from the street too — just look for the pet coloured elephants —

but the biggest reason we liked the place was the extraordinary woodwork, not only structural but the furniture as well, check out our bed here:

Sawasdee Angkor Villa

That is definitely by far the most ornately carved bed we have ever slept in.

So yep, that’s just the kind of place we like to stay at, convenient comfortable and reasonably priced; recommend it to you too for your Siem Reap stay!
