Country File: Haiti

We’re skipping over to the Western Hemisphere today, for a quick visit to a country in the news lately — it’s a particular piece of that news we’ll amuse you with tomorrow, in fact — Repiblik Dayti (République d’Haïti), commonly known as Haiti!

Haiti joined UNESCO on 18 November 1946, making it a real country by everywhs.com‘s standard, and it has 1 inscribed and 1 tentative World Heritage Sites:

Inscribed:
National History Park – Citadel, Sans Souci, Ramiers (1982)

Tentative:
Centre historique de Jacmel (21/09/2004)

MTP and TCC count Haiti as 1 place,

Haiti

although the island of Navassa, claimed by the United States, has that claim disputed by Haiti,
