#travel #blog Hi Class Living

It’s getting to be quite the sport, trying to predict where we’re going to end up on these weekly #travel1k leaderboards; you may recall last week we were all distraught at plunging to #92 —

— well, for the week of January 31st we are doing somewhat better, whoosh back up to #71. It’s not that dizzying #20 from a couple weeks ago, but hey what’s life without something to aim for, amirite?

This week we saw the biggest climbs from True Nomads(up 1295 places to 414th), The Time Of Our Lives (up 553 places to 271st), and Chris AGreekAdventure (up 483 places to 466th).

We also welcome new travel bloggers Sandra Foyt (183rd) and Francesca Mazurkiewicz (421st) to the #travel1k Top 1000+ Travel Blogs scorecard.

Well done to this week’s top three Charles McCoolMatt Matt, and Howard Blount (Backroad Planet / #TBIN).

Let’s go looking for our new blog to check out this week; ah, here we are at #11 up from #17: @HiClassMags Hi Class Living!

Welcome to Hiclass.com the online extension of our print publication, Hi Class Living Magazine.

For over three decades as publishers and editors we have shared luxurious travel experiences, art & culture events, and epicurean highlights.

We traveled on the Orient Express from Istanbul to Venice, rode elephants in Malaysia, climbed the pyramids of Central America and explored the ancient temples of Angkor. We saw the headhunters of Borneo and the indigenous tribes of the Andes. We visited the hallowed D-Day beaches of Normandy, the Nazi parade grounds in Nuremberg and the Killing Fields of Cambodia. We camped in style on African safaris, luxuriated at posh resorts and got pampered at 5-star spas. We cruised the rivers of Europe and sailed the oceans of the world…

Well, the description is accurate, but the overlap between our World Heritage site hunting and “shared luxurious travel experiences, art & culture events, and epicurean highlights” is …

… slim.

Not nonexistent, mind you, there are indeed things here that interest us we hadn’t heard of anywhere else, as a specific example here

An Extraordinary Sistine Chapel Experience Opens in Rome

A new multi sensory experience, “Giudizio Universale (the Last Judgement) — Michelangelo and the secrets of the Sistine Chapel, is coming to Rome this spring.

The 60 minute show, inspired by the wonders of the chapel and Michelangelo’s immortal work, will take the audience on an immersive journey through time and space. The mesmerizing 270 degrees presentation utilizes the latest in high tech theater production including videos, laser projections, live acting and music by Sting…

Hmmm. Should we be near Rome in the near future, that’s definitely on the list! So personally we won’t put this on the must follow list, but yep we’ll keep it around to catch things like that Sistine Chapel show.

Technically, BuiltWith tells us it’s a standard WordPress + Jetpack setup, and as always we recommend Dreampress as your best choice for that, free Jetpack Professional and all; standard set of plugins as well.

So yep, if the namesake high class living is your thing, this looks like a good blog, and if high class living in the NYC area is your thing this looks like an excellent blog; and if your interests overlap occassionally with the culture vulture set, like us, it’s got the odd nugget for you too!
