Win A Trip To Mexico With Lifestraw!

Looking for adventure?

We are looking for two amazing people to join us on our next give back campaign bringing kids safe water and exploring the wilds of Chiapas.

GIVING BACK

For every LifeStraw product sold, a child in need receives safe water for an entire school year. Thanks to purchases of Lifestraw, this year we are taking water purifiers to rural schools in Mexico. Join us to experience how much of an impact a simple purchase can make.

WHAT KIND OF TRIP IS IT?

We are combining doing good with adventure in Chiapas, Mexico. You will join the team for 3 days installing LifeStraw Community and educating rural school children. After that, get ready for some adventure as you spend the rest of the week hiking, rafting and exploring the Chiapas and surrounding areas.

If you want to do something good that actually makes a difference to people’s lives, clean water is the most cost-effective thing there is by far — and outdoor adventure on top, well that’s just the awesomesauce on your awesomeburger, isn’t it?

And if you don’t win, well buying a Lifestraw product is your way to help out and benefit yourself and the environment at the same time!

Personally, we have one of the originals, now called Lifestraw Personal:

  • Ultralight: weighs only 2 ounces (57 grams)
  • Meets US EPA drinking water standards
  • Portable: only 9” (22.5 cm) long and 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter
  • Requires no electrical power, batteries or replacement parts
  • BPA free and contains no chemicals
  • Raw materials meet US Food and Drug Administration regulations and standards
  • No aftertaste: LifeStraw doesn’t use iodine or iodinated resin chemicals
  • Removes 99.999999% of waterborne bacteria, including E. coli and salmonella
  • Removes 99.999% waterborne protozoa, including Giardia and Cryptosporidium
  • Removes 99.999% of microplastics

At the time, they claimed it would be good for 1000 liters — and we see on the website now they’ve upgraded that to 4000 liters. At 2 ounces and an indefinite shelf life, we figured that was an essential piece of travel/disaster preparation gear to have around!

These days, there’s an entire line of Lifestraw products for you to consider as well. First off, for another couple of ounces you can get a steel version with carbon filtering:

Or a water bottle with built-in filter:

Or a family-sized version:

So if you’re going to be staying anywhere outside fully catered resorts — and even if you are, you can never be quite sure when some kind of storm or disaster will hit! — or if you simply don’t want to contribute to our plastic water bottle problems more than you must, we thoroughly recommend that you pack a water filter, and Lifestraw’s are the best of the lot!
