And for our review blog this week, who haven’t we gone over yet … oh look, the highest ranked is actually the blog that first let us know about the #travel1k rankings: @luxury__travel’s A Luxury Travel Blog!
A Luxury Travel Blog is like no other travel blog.
It focuses on the finer aspects of travel and serves as a gateway for the discerning traveller, providing information on the most luxurious hotels and resorts, the finest restaurants and news from within the luxury travel industry, to name just a few.
The blog is brought to you by Dr. Paul Johnson (pictured right on an expedition with Land Rover, travelling from Kathmandu, Nepal to New Delhi, India) and a team of more than 600 writers and guest bloggers.
Paul has worked in the travel industry for 30 years and has travelled extensively, from his home in Kendal, Cumbria (UK) to places all over the world. He is also a Director of The Dedicated Partnership Ltd., an online tourism marketing company with a client base that includes some of the finest hotels in the world.
On account of this, A Luxury Travel Blog has grown to be one the most popular travel blogs in the world – if not the most popular – serving more than 140,000 unique visitors per month, and with more than 725,000 followers on Twitter and over 280,000 on Facebook (figures updated November 2017)…
Now that’s a travel blog on an industrial scale! And the topics range across the entire spectrum — here’s one off the first page that mentions World Heritage, we’ll always read those…
In the past, Malawi has never really been considered much of a pioneer in conservation terms compared to its neighbours in Africa. It has always had its protected national parks and wildlife reserves, and it is home to the world’s first freshwater National Park in Lake Malawi (also a UNESCO World Heritage Site). But, over the years, preserving what wildlife the country had has been a challenge met by a small group of die-hards and with little or no outside support or funding (take a bow, Central African Wilderness Safaris and the staff of the Department of National Parks & Wildlife making the most of their limited resources).
Thankfully, recent years have seen that situation change dramatically, and now the Warm Heart of Africa is becoming known for taking the lead in conservation initiatives as much as it is for its friendly people and stunning Lake. These exciting developments are also helping to transform the visitor experience in Malawi. With the authentic cultural experiences, stunningly beautiful scenery and crystal-clear waters and golden sandy beaches of Lake Malawi, the country has always had some of the top attractions in Africa. But its perceived weakness was always its wildlife – the key draw card for this continent. With the safari experiences now being transformed as a result of these conservation efforts, Malawi is set to emerge as one of the most complete destinations in Africa…
Or how about this? This is a good one to dream about, anyways:

p dir=”ltr”>Now that’s the kind of luxury that we’re actually tempted by!
Technically, BuiltWith tells us it’s a standard WordPress setup, and as always we recommend Dreampress as your best choice for that, free Jetpack Professional and all; and a pretty standard collection of plugins … interestingly, far fewer advertising plugins than the normal run of travel blogs, but they do have a tip jar. That works? Apparently it does, if you’re that popular!
So yep, if we were a luxury travel blog, this is just the kind of luxury travel blog we’d be … and in the meantime, the most adventure-inspiring of that class we’ve seen yet; definitely follow it for dreams and inspiration for your “trip of a lifetime” bucket list!
