#travel #blog La Jolla Mom

Now that we’re back in the swing of things, how do you think we did on the #travel1k leaderboard for the week of January 10th? Well, will you look at that:

This week we saw the biggest climbs from Caroline Tongs et Sri Lanka (up 442 places to 386th), Alex Curylo (up 355 places to 31st), and Rob Tellier (Gr8 Travel Tips) who went straight in at 298th.

Well done to this week’s top three Matt MattHeather Delaney Reese, and Charles McCool.

That’s not so bad for a week, 355 places. That’s what getting 6 posts up, instead of zero, and a couple dozen Twitter events, instead of a handful, will do for you on these rankings. For whatever that’s worth, but hey, we’ll take whatever social proof we can get.

While we’re basking in that warm glow of achievement, the highest ranking blog we haven’t checked out yet is … at #7 up from #16: @lajollamom‘s La Jolla Mom!

La Jolla Mom blog

I am a freelance lifestyle and luxury travel writer who loves mother-daughter trips, Pinterest, my husband’s sense of humor, a nice glass of wine and one very needy pitbull mix. Living at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong spoiled us for life so we regularly check in to Four Seasons and other luxury properties around the globe. When not on the road, we are at home in seaside La Jolla, CA (an affluent community in San Diego).

As an Independent Consultant with Worldview Travel, I also help people plan and book their San Diego vacations. Ask me also about the exclusive VIP amenities I can secure at many five star hotels worldwide through Virtuoso and other preferred hotel partner programs…

OK, the overlap between “things on this blog” and “things we’re interested in” is … low. A few minutes clicking around and the only relevantish thing we found was

Best Travel Hashtags To Use On Instagram

… and it’s from 2013. (The advice still looks solid though, if you’re working on your Instagram following, check it out!)

However, this blog does get five stars on the Role Model list, as what she’s got going here is darn near to what we’re planning for this blog, just for Bangkok not La Jolla!

Technically, BuiltWith tells us it’s a standard WordPress setup, and as always we recommend Dreampress as your best choice for that; although there’s an unusually wide selection of advertising and commission plugins, definitely take a look at that later.

So if you’re interested in a luxury travel and lifestyle blog focused on Southern California —
