Today’s news is the update of the #travel1k leaderboards for the week of September 6th, and we are at … why #160, that’s much better than last week! Back in the top 200, at least. Top 150 next?

This week we saw the biggest climbs from Vishnu Kumar (up 684 places to 628th), Campbell Louw (up 456 places to 324th), and Victor’s Travels (up 431 places to 240th).

We welcome our two new travel bloggers Gabriela Teisu (814th), and Nikki @whereisnoodles (1694th) to the #travel1k Top 1000+ Travel Blogs board.

Well done to this week’s top three BonVoyageursRoarLoud- Cathy Merrifield, and Stef Travel Photographer

As always, let’s skim down the leaders to find a new blog to check out this week; and here it is, down from #15 last week to #17: @2monkeystravel ’s Two Monkeys Travel Group!

Hey there! Welcome to Two Monkeys Travel Group – an inspirational travel blog started by Kach – The Little Brown Monkey, and Jonathan – The White Monkey. We are a traveling entrepreneur couple from the Philippines and the United Kingdom. Our journey to travel around the world started in April 2013 when we met in Luang Prabang, Laos, and since then we’ve travelled to all the 7 Continents and over 70 countries. To learn more about us and our adventures check out “Who are the Monkeys?”

Our website is mostly about travel itinerariestravel destinationsstaycations and travel lifestyle. As we have grown, we have taken on the goal of informing the world about the nitty-gritty of traveling around the globe, and at the same time inspiring people to seize everyday and get our of their comfort zones. We do all this whilst living a nomadic life, focused on a sustainable travel lifestyle and striving to achieve the perfect blend of adventure and luxury travel…

Just your usual travel story, boy meets girl, boy and girl get married, boy and girl wander the world. Why, it’d make a great Disney movie, wouldn’t it?

Excellent blog to take tips on monetization from, as all these high rankers unsurprisingly are, which is why we’re doing this series of course! but this is a particuarly interesting post:

30+ Travel Bloggers Earning over 5,000 USD / Month & How They Monetize Their Blogs

Sooner or later we’re going to get content built up and actually work on the monetization part … and it’s certainly nice to have such a wealth of examples!

Technically, BuiltWith tells us it’s a standard WordPress technology stack with the usual run of plugins.

So yep, another blog nicely aimed at the general tourist; we’ll study their operations, but for our own interests we’ll keep looking at people like NOMADasaurus, they’re doing just about exactly what we want to!
